I saw a KIA commercial this morning for the Cadenza and they were comparing it to a 7 series,

The Stinger is cool in the sense that they are building something like this but it's still a KIA.

Fake hood vents, or fake engine noises?

It may not be a 7 series yet. But every year it gets better. And that's more than can be said for any model in BMW's lineup.

Not all cars are designed equally, I will say that. My 2012 chevy volt has 'inserts' everywhere. They are constantly popping up on the door handle exposing the bolts to remove the trim. Pretty annoying.

Hell the cars drive better than BMW's, might as well make them look better too.

The problem is that BMW has an established brand that conveys certain....preconceived notions. It is a status symbol in a lot of people's minds.

Kia has established a brand that conveys certain....preconceived notions too. And status is not one of those things.

Yet Kia is pricing this car right alongside its german competitors. It won't fly. Part of the money you are paying on a BMW/Mercedes/Audi/Lexus is the brand name. Eventually these Kia's will slow on sales, you'll get huge rebates then it might be interesting to check one out.
