    That is pretty amazing. We now know how all the parts on Alibaba are made...lol. And there is no way i would be holding my hand that close to a laser that strong.

    I am sure the applications are quite limited, I wouldn't suspect it works on much more than sheet metals, but I'm not a welder and don't know anything about it. I think the traditional TIG welder is safe for now :)

    Considering this likely has to be programmed like a CNC, I think its uses are small, but it definitely paves the way for the $99 intake manifold :)

    I wouldn't be happy with those welds. If the bead was moved to the right a little, or the edges of the parts had slightly less of a chamfer, to reduce the weld undercut on the right side of the bead, it'd be pretty nice.

    I have a few lasers at work that are designed for cutting, marking, drilling, and welding. I have yet to play with the welding application, but always want to.

    We use laser welders all the time at work. I work for a medical device company and my company makes implantable batteries. They are definitely cool to watch and use, especially seeing the speed and ability that they have.
