What's with all these cheap "index 12" injectors on ebay?

I see these all over eBay and some actually show -12 index. They are so cheap some say remanufactured index 9? How do they even do that or is it a crock of shit? I was looking into upgrading my index 8 and 5 injectors that were done in 2011 but it's hard to bite the 1500 for just injectors on a msrp 7999 car. Let alone installing them myself and coding them. Anyone try these things?

Only buy it if it's genuine otherwise your better off buying from bmw, or your local auto parts stores who sell genuine injectors. Failing injectors have been known to cause engine failure if you drive to long with a leaking injector. If your car isn't that old is double check to see if it's still under warranty. I had mine updated with index 12 a few years ago for free from bmw because one of the injectors was leaking and causing a rough idle.

According to the N54 injector SIB, index 1-10 vs 11-12 have different internal construction and respond differently to calibration values.

I've also heard 11-12 have an updated spray pattern.

Hmm, I bought 1 injector from FCPeuro about 2 weeks ago and it is -261.

Then some stuff happened to my car and then I ordered 5 more, but from ZNM. I just contacted him and he said they are 937. I did some research and 937 and 079 are the same thing. Should I try to return my 261 to FCP and get a newer one? Or will it be fine? ZNM said 261 is universal.

I would stay away from those crooks at ZNM Performance.you will learn the hard way if you go.best to do things yourself or go to someone reputable.their prices are cheaper for a reason.unexperienced group.i have been hearing this lately from few people.

Would love to have a civil, constructive conversation (publicly of course) on what misinformation I gave out. Furthermore, non of our stock was “old stock”. Every injector we have sold is a Genuine BMW injector ending in 937. We have sold well over 1,000 units. Furthermore- we don’t sell stock older than 8 months. Every single injector we have sold was sourced from BMW on or after 12/1/17.

You can pick up a scan tool like schwaben and check the position of your injectors or hit up an indy shop. The long crank and heavy fue smell in oil is usually first sign

What do you know that we dont? You realize that there is no difference between the 937 and 079 index 12s, besides the fact that one is strictly for warranty replacements and the other is for anyone to freely purchase
