Hi gents,
As you might know the B58 (top) big end bearing journals are equipped with a red coating. This coating is a so called Polymer coating.
I've seen minimal wear on used bearings which amazed me.
The B58 and N54 crankpins have a dia of 50MM.
My main question is the rest of the bearing (Width, thickness and notches for fixation) the same as on the N54?
Unfortunately I don't have a B58 journal in possesion.
Maybe someone who can chime in?
It would be a game changer to order factory Mahle Polymer coated bearings from a B58 and install on a N54.
Yes I know about the Calico coated bearing options.
But the idea to order them straigt from the dealer would be nice.
Below a B58 rod bearing with 125.000km on the clock.
